52 Week Project for 2010
January 1st - January 9th
I'm lumping the first couple of days of January into the first full week of January just to make things a little easier for me. I took this shot on January 8th as it was the day after we received the first (and probably only) snow of the year. It snowed most of the afternoon on Thursday but didn't start to stick until after the sun went down. The real problem was the ice that was created by the below freezing temperatures we had been having for the past week. I think all of the ice finally melted a week later.
This is a shot from Suwanee Town Center of the pavilion where you can see the snow covering the grass.

This was all pure timing and luck. I was sitting in a meeting at work when I saw this Red Shouldered hawk swoop down from a tree, grab something and land in another tree. I sat there and watched it eat it's snack during my meeting. When my meeting finally ended, I went out to my car and got my camera and was lucky enough to find the Hawk still sitting in the same area, but a different tree. This was the 2nd shot I took of it's back before it turned around and faced me to give me a shot of it's wonderful orangish feathers on it's chest. I took these shots from our 2nd story parking deck and our building is the wonderful blurred out grey background behind the Hawk.

So I was working from home on Thursday the 14th and I decided to take a picture of our home office/workout gym. As you can see we have a treadmill, an elliptical, a desk with a 22" LCD on it. The LCD, keyboard, and mouse are hooked up to a DVI KVM switch that allows me to switch between my Desktop computer (that the lamp is sitting on) and my work laptop.
To the left is our HP Printer/Scanner/Fax machine that gets a lot of use. The room is a bit cramped, but it gets the job done.

My sister and my 2 nephews flew into town this weekend from their home in Swansboro, NC. We went out to my parents house on Sunday the 24th to visit with them. While we were out there I took this shot of my sister in the kitchen. It's been a while since I had a good portrait of my sister and while this was impromptu with not the best background, it came out pretty good.

We went to the Gwinnett Gladiators game versus the Toledo Walleye on Saturday 2/6. I liked this shot (even though the glass is in the way) because it shows you a goalie's worst nightmare. The goalie dived for the puck to cover it up and missed it (you can see the puck at the end of his stick). However, luckily for him there wasn't another player around close enough to score a goal as he was able to quickly recover.

The 2010 Atlanta Braves Caravan made a stop at the Publix in Suwanee, GA on Monday 2/8. This is a shot of all of the Braves personnel that were there on hand to sign autographs for the fans. The Publix workers said that people started lining up for the autograph session at 10 AM that morning. The Braves did not arrive until 5 PM. Those in attendance from closest to furthest: Roger McDowell; Brian Jordan; Jordan Schafer; Brian McCann; Don Sutton; Jo Jo Reyes; Mike Dunn; and Bobby Cox.

I attended the Georgia Tech vs. Missouri State University baseball game on Saturday 2/20 with my good friend Joey. This was one of my favorite shots of the day though. If you look closely at the bat you can see the dust cloud coming off of it after the player hit the ball. Camera's amaze me with what they can capture everyday. Baseball means spring is almost here!
